Storms . . .

Thunder . . . lightening . . . teeming rain
Startled . . . I wake from the shaking pane
I lay there listening . . .  to the course of its path
Wondering, will there be devastation in the aftermath
How lucky I feel . . . lying safe in my bed
When so many others have suffered widespread
It’s always my mantra be thankful with what you’ve got
Even when you think it’s not a lot!

  1. Very true words! I had the same thoughts as I watched the news of devastation in Oklahoma.

  2. We are so truly fortunate that the storms didn't head our way. My prayers and heart goes out to those in Oklahoma who have lost family, friends and their homes.

  3. Lynn-I couldn't sleep last night. We are so lucky and have so much to be thankful for each day.

  4. We were far removed from the storms Monday. A few years ago we had smoke damage and lost most of our belongings. In the process we learned that we always have a lot even when we've lost everything.
I have made a "found poem"of SOL post titles today and your title is in my poem!

  5. Hard to be in storms and be reminded of so many suffering more than just a wet and windy night.
