Coming from the Midwest, we would not even begin to think of spring until maybe May! However, living in New Mexico is a very different story. The weather here is fantastic, mostly because the sun is shinning most every day. It is the desert, so at night and early morning it's cool but temps during the day have been very mild. In fact, last week and this week temps have been hovering around 70! This is unheard of in Chicago. Today as I was outside looking around I even noticed baby plants beginning to sprout up! I felt like running to the nursery to see what's available so, I could start planting...but I'll wait a bit because after all it is only February 10th.
Sorry the pics are not coming through today by way of my iPad! It shows up until I publish :-(
Not sure what the problem is... Time to buy a new laptop I think...
But imagine if you will baby green sprouts pushing through the ground...
I do have some tulips pushing up, but someone must be eating them. They are sheared off like someone has snipped them with a scissors. Enjoy your 70's now, soon it will be too hot to be outside. BTW, so jealous of your warmth.
ReplyDeleteOur winter in AR has been very mild and I'm sure when we get back from FL later this week that there will be a few things sprouting up thru the leaves. Enjoy the 70's while you can - it will get hotter! But I know you will enjoy it so much better than IL weather. Aren't you glad you're not there now?
ReplyDeleteGreen sprouts?!? Jealous. With all this snow .... it will be awhile before spring arrives here! I wonder when you can start planting ... maybe February isn't too early! Enjoy!!!
