Fill it up . . . and they will come
So, I boiled the sugar in water,
let the liquid cool,
gently filled it up
and hung it back on the hook
And I patiently waited . . .
and waited . . .
and waited . . .
As the sun began to set, and my excitement began to wane
I reminded myself . . .
I Filled it up . . . and they will come

It may take some time...but they will probably come. I have had to wait a couple of weeks at times. Once they know you have a feeder they will continue to check it out.

ReplyDeleteI love the way you wrote this! It's so hopeful. They will come. :)
ReplyDeleteThey will soon arrive and enjoy a deep drink in that special fountain you prepared for them.
ReplyDeleteThey will, always do! Just have to find you!
ReplyDeleteIt is so hard to be patient when you are waiting with sugar water. Hopefully you will be able to catch them at the feeder to continue this story.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful lyric of hope. Please post pictures when they arrive!
