stairwells at most corners
the door for the crowds
for the people

the silver bullet... the pulse of the city
the New York City subway

Good morning!!

waking up this morning with a great big smile
cause all the special ladies in my life are together for a short while
our annual trip to New York to get pampered, to shop, and tour
wasting not a moment of the day  . . . you can be sure
the chatter . . . . the giggles . . . begin as soon as we wake
the plans for the day are scheduled make no mistake
today as always we begin with a treat
making our hands pretty along with our feet

Making Memories

eight hours from now when this day ends
there will be a lot of sighs and a few amens
I am more than ready there is no doubt
To jump on the plane that will fly the route
To the city to the place where a piece of my heart is
To the city to the place where my sweet Lyndsey lives
She was raised to go out there and follow her dream
to spread her wings and fly no matter how extreme
I cherish the times making new memories for my heart
For the months when unfortunately we are far apart

WFSN . . .Going Live

Each morning at school we begin our day with a live broadcast . . . aka WFSN.  The news team is comprised of groups of 5-7 5th grade students.  The jobs include, 2 anchors, a camera person, the director, an announcer, music person and the checker. The students come to school about 30 minutes early to practice his/her job so we are ready to go live at 9:15.    I have to be honest, the time before we go live is by far my favorite time of the day.  In that very short period of time . . . I see students becoming confident speakers, shy students taking risks as well as students working cooperatively together as a team.  In that short period of time . . .  the students and I have conversations that are fun and lighthearted.  Not only do I learn things about them, but I share bits of my life as well.  In that short period  of time. . . I bond with them and I believe it’s that short period of time that they remember for a very long time!
