Goodbye To Summer . . .
It’s been over 24 hours . . . summer memories are in the past
As much as I had hoped . . . I knew summer fun would not last
Waking up leisurely, daily work outs at the gym
Spending time with my sister and family for many a swim
So many fond memories . . . New York in June
Music concerts in the park, under a full moon
Mexico with my family celebrating my birthday
Oh how I wish I could go back . . . for an instant replay!
No rushing, no stressing, no schedule to keep
Staying up late . . . no worries if I don’t get to sleep
Goodbye summer . . . I say with a sigh . . .
I guess, all good things must come to an end . . . but why?!?
Love your poem and you covered summer - oh so well. Just think of all the memories you have that you can bring back when those winter winds blow. Have a great school year!
ReplyDeleteSummer is that much more special when we know it will come to an end! One thing I could really relate to is "no worries if I don't get to sleep"!

ReplyDeleteAh, summer. But we are refreshed for another year and only because of all the time and activities away from school. So, summer has it's purpose. We'll continue to work hard because another summer will be upon on soon . . .
ReplyDeleteSummer ending always feels like a shock to the system. Memories of it linger for months, but yet it goes by so quickly!
