Message to My Friend

a message to my friend . . .
    we became connected . . .
because we both heard a simple word . . . a word that spoke volumes
    we became connected . . .
because we understood the deep fear and the dark unknown it could cause
    we became connected . . .
because we could only know how “it” felt even though we both have so much love from our amazing families
    we became connected . . .
because you have said so often I give you hope and inspiration
    we became connected . . .
because you have become an inspiration to me and I am in awe of your strength
    we became connected . . .
because I am here for what ever you need
    we became connected . . .
and for that I am immensely grateful
xoxo

  6. I love the repetition of 'we became connected' throughout your poem. It's a tough journey -- and I don't understand the power of the word nor the darkest fear it brings. I am amazed by both of you and your strength. I hope you will share this with your connected friend.
