Finally feeling settled in our new home we took time to
start exploring and enjoying. My
brother and sister-in-law came to visit for a week. It was great having them here! We visited a small town named Corrales, which is just about 20 minutes or so from our house. We came upon a
great winery that is run by a husband and wife. All the grapes for the wine are grown here in New Mexico. We learned that New Mexico has some of
the oldest wineries in the country! Besides the awesome views during our free tasting, the wine was fabulous
(as you can see from our purchases J) Next week Santa Fe . . .

| View of the grapes and those mountains! |
 |
| Interesting tree trunk . . . don't you think? |
 |
| View we had during the tasting. |
 |
| Comfy area to sit and enjoy a glass of wine! |
 |
| As you can see the wine was awesome! |
I never would have thought ... grape growing in New Mexico? Wine country? Wow -- it is absolutely gorgeous! Look at those views!!! Watch out ... once my mom finds out about this, you may have two more visitors soon! Wouldn't that be a funny story ... you never met here back in Illinois, but meet up in New Mexico!?!? It's sooo good to hear your voice again! Miss you sooo much too, Lynn!

I always try to catch your posts....love to see the pictures and hear about New Mexico. It is a most 'enchanting land.' I will have to stop by and try some of that wine next year when I visit. Jackie http://familytrove.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteAnother place to visit. Everywhere we travel, we try to find the local wineries and we've found some great ones. I've only drive thru New Mexico, so maybe it's a place to add to our traveling wish list. Glad to hear that you are getting adjusted and find lots of new things. Beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're exploring and enjoying New Mexico. I think it's fabulous. Enjoy Santa Fe too-so much wonderful there, Lynn!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea New Mexico has a wine country! I love the mom-and-pop operations, and try to visit as many as I can out here on the California Central Coast. If I ever make it back to New Mexico, I will have to visit some out there :-)
