Oh hello there . . . it’s been a while
But just seeing you out there brings a smile
I’ve missed how I feel when I see your face
I’m hoping you’ll still be there when I get out of this place
I long for those days when I can watch you slowly appear
And right before my eyes you become a golden sphere
I never get tired of the warmth you share
In fact I look forward to being with you sitting on my lawn chair!

Oh, those days of summer sun do beckon at this time of year! I love this conversation with old man sun. We had several days of sun last week, and his absence is sorely felt this week.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the sunshine on this chilly morning while walking Max. There was some warmth to it and it felt so good to just bask in its glory.
ReplyDeleteYour poem made me smile and reminded me of when I go to New Mexico, walk up the ridge and greet the sun each morning. It is such a positive experience and way to start the day. Thanks for the warm reminder that the sun greets us each day...even if behind a cloud. Jackie http://familytrove.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteThis warmed me through and through - I LOVE the sun.
ReplyDeleteHere comes the sun . . . (I'm singing along!) I love that it's lighter out later in the evenings! The bright blue sky today and big ole sun shining! Bring on the vitamin D!
