The Battle Gear is On. . . .

Today is Saturday . . . that means WW. . . aka Weight Watchers weigh in day.  Yes, the beginning of January I joined and made the commitment to attend the meetings and weigh in each week.  I bet there are a lot of people who made the same commitment!  I think of myself as the tortoise . . .  very slow but steady.  The day I lost my first 10 pounds the leader asked me what advice or insight do I have.  So here are a few of my insights on the “diet war” no matter which side you are on . . . There will be times when you will be the perfect WW, Atkins, Jenny Craig etc. follower and you may not drop an ounce . . . don’t let this be the “time”  the day you give up . . . let it be the day that makes you stronger.  If you know you are the type of person that can’t just have one cookie don’t temp yourself . . . find a healthy alternative and give yourself a pat on the back.  And finally, if you do go a little overboard one day (for me it was a couple extra glasses of wine) get right back on the wagon the next day and workout a half hour longer.  Good luck to anyone who has their battle gear on as well :-)

  1. Go, Lynn! We went grocery shopping last night, and we tried hard to fill the cart with healthy choices. It's definitely a battle, but you're right...setbacks should help us be stronger!

  2. Sounds like you're on the right track. I think those little setbacks are necessary - we can't totally deprive ourselves of the things we love. I always think that everything in moderation is good. Good luck with weigh in and in your new life style.

  3. Wow - congrats! Stay strong! Why is it sooo easy to add on the pounds, but when we want to lose it, it's so much more difficult? I mean, we lose things all the time, but this?? Great advice and it's the motivation that I need to watch what I'm eating!
