Inspire . . . A friend shared her blog with me which inspired me to dig deep inside and bring my thoughts onto paper...maybe I will pay it forward and inspire someone too! Thanks, Michelle!

A New Hairdresser
I'm a little nervous today . . . a little nervous because today is the day I'm getting my first haircut here! I know this may sound crazy to some, but I had a wonderful relationship with my last hairdresser in Chicago. Whenever I went to see him, we would talk non stop about, well everything and even more important I LOVED the way he cut my hair! In fact, there were times we would share a glass of wine together as he cut my hair! The last haircut I had was in December when my husband and I went back for a visit. To say I'm a bit over due is an understatement! So today is the day, the day I try someone new, someone I have no connection with, someone who, may not cut my hair the way I like. I know it's crazy, but I feel like I'm being disloyal in some way . . . But . . . I'll go in today with a positive attitude, try not to compare the two of them and then suggest that a nice touch is to offer clients a glass of wine! "Wink . . .wink"

It's so scary to try someone new for a haircut! I can totally relate. That said, maybe you will get that glass of wine!
ReplyDeleteI have had the same hairdresser for most of my life - and I am 51 years old. There were a few times when I lived somewhere else and I had others, but for the most part, it has been Brenda. I don't know what I will do when she retires. Good luck today - I am sure it will be fine with our without the wine. BTW - I loved the response to your typo!
ReplyDeleteIt's like a blind date, isn't it! Good luck!

ReplyDeleteIt is a little scary ... I get it, but I also know that hair will grow back! And if you totally hate the cut (or the hair dresser), keep looking! :) You are beautiful no matter what!
ReplyDeleteman, I thought the Coke I was offered was ritzy!! LOL!!! I bet you will joy it. Let us know how it goes.

ReplyDeleteWhen you move to a new area, you have so many firsts. A new hair dresser is always scary. The good thing about hair is that it does grow back and there are many others available if this one doesn't work out. Good luck. Hope you got a glass of wine!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean when you say you feel disloyal. I've had the same stylist for years. When my cousin got her license, I felt bad letting her practice on me. She did a great job but I couldn't leave my stylist. The next appointment I had I came clean. She didn't seem to mind...and my cousin moved to a new town so I'm not torn between them any longer.
ReplyDeleteI love a visit to the stylist - it's hair therapy! May your new hairdresser be the perfect fit!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Michelle. You ARE beautiful no matter what!! I hope you had the glass of wine!!
