Inspire . . . A friend shared her blog with me which inspired me to dig deep inside and bring my thoughts onto paper...maybe I will pay it forward and inspire someone too! Thanks, Michelle!

Cleaning Day
My sister and I have been coming to New York to see my niece ever since she attended NYU some 9 years ago. Every time we came we liked to take a little time helping her "spring clean" no matter which season it was! However, about 3 years ago my cousins decided to join us on our New York trip which meant no spring cleaning, just fun in the city. This year just my sister and I came because we really wanted to help my niece with some stuff. If you have ever spent time in a New York apartment you know the space is small and creativity is a must. Yesterday was our day to help my niece as she had to go to work. My sister and I got up very early saw my niece off and began to tackle the kitchen. We reorganized the cabinets, washed them inside and out and did her laundry. All our efforts were so worth it because of the look on her face when she walked in the door! It's nice to do for your children no matter how old and independent they are!

Amen. We all need help now and then, and I can see the joy you gave your niece.
ReplyDeleteSo when do you want to come to Arkansas and get my house in shape?
ReplyDeleteI'm giggling, Judy - I was going to type the same thing (just substitute IL for AR) :)
DeleteWhat a special gift! Sometimes we just have time (or want to make time) to do that cleaning stuff. It's hard enough just to keep the house (or little apartment) clean, let alone go digging in cabinets and closets! I know she was just thrilled!
